A sold-out Teatro Cilea celebrated the adventurous life of one of the great physicists of the twentieth century.
The Premio Cosmos 2024 was awarded on 14 October at the Teatro Francesco Cilea in Reggio Calabria, before a full house. The trophy was presented by the mayor, Giuseppe Falcomatà.
The scientific committee chose Maksimovič by Giuseppe Mussardo, professor of theoretical physics at SISSA in Trieste. The jury praised his investigative reconstruction of the adventurous and little-known story of Bruno Pontecorvo, the Italian physicist who crossed the Iron Curtain.
Students chose Viaggio al centro del cervello by neuroscientist Fabrizio Benedetti and illustrator Luca Morici, an exploration of the mind in words, images and comics.
