The seventh Festival Cosmos closed with two prizes: one for a tour of other worlds, one for the mathematician who astonished Einstein.
On 13 October, the Teatro Francesco Cilea in Reggio Calabria hosted the closing ceremony of the Festival Cosmos 2025.
The scientific committee awarded the Premio Cosmos to astronomer Chris Impey for Mondi senza fine, an exploration of exoplanets and of the chances that life might exist beyond the Solar System.
The students’ prize, chosen by student juries from schools across Italy, went to mathematician Elisabetta Strickland for her biography of Emmy Noether, whose theorems transformed modern physics and whose genius Einstein openly admired.
The winning books
